Abstract

Spore morphology of 41 genera, 119 species
and 11 varieties of pteridophyte are studied
at light microscope.
Keys for separation of taxa are included
according spore characters, descriptions
and fotomicrographs. The main characters
useful for the identification are: size,
ornamentation and thickness of the
perispore, presence or absence of crest and
folds in the perispore and presence or
absence of margo. Spore morphologyallows
the separation of 50% taxa here studied.
Taxonomic position of some taxa is
discussed and some interpretations are
based in spore morphology.
