Abstract

Twenty-four collections from eight sample
sites of the central region of the state
Quintana Roo, Mexico, were sampled
during 1986. A total of 223 species were
identified, of wich 118 species are
Rhodophyta, 27 Phaeophyta and 78
Chlorophyta. 134 species (59 %)
represented new recorded for central
Quintana Roo. The floristic list include data
on reproductive state, substrate and
ephyfitism. The families Rhodomelaceae,
Corallinaceae, Ceramiaceae (Rhodophyta),
Dictyotaceae (Phaeophyta), Caulerpaceae
and Udoteaceae (Chlorophyta) were the
most representated in both number of
species and frequency of occurrence in the
sampl ing sites.
