CAULERPA MEXICANA SONDER EX KÜTZING (CAULERPACEAE, CHLOROPHYTA) IN MEXICO

Abstract

Besides type varieta and forma of Caulerpa mexicana Sonder ex Kützing (Caulerpaceae, Chlorophyta), two forms are recognized for Mexican coasts: C. mexicana forma laxior (Weber-van Bosse) W.R. Taylor and C. mexicana forma pectinata (Kützing) W.R. Taylor. Nomenclatural confusion with C. taxifotia (Vahl) C. Agardh is discused and it is concluded that these taxon have been not found in Mexico. Distribution of C. mexicana is maped.
